  Abstract
Major hard X-ray techniques enabling the investigation of advanced oxide nanostructures are reviewed. Magnetic and non-magnetic surface X-ray diffraction, grazing incidence small angle X-rays scattering and scanning micro-diffraction microscopy techniques are presented. Their application to polar oxide surfaces, growing nano-particles and patterned magnetic tunnel junction illustrate respectively these techniques.
