Abstract |
|
|
Projecting a polarized interference pattern onto a film containing azobenene molecules results in the formation of a surface relief grating. We thereby show that the control of the relationship between the spatial distribution of the incident light polarization and the photodeformation at the film surface is the key factor to displace matter. To do so, we use a near-field microscopy technique which permits simultaneous and accurate visualization of the time evolution of the exciting light pattern and of the film morphology with the same local probe.
