Abstract |
|
|
Ileo-ileo-ileal intussusception is extremely rare. We report herein the case of a 9-year-old girl with ileo-ileo-ileal intussusception which was caused by multiple hamartomatous polyps of the small intestine. The patient underwent ultrasonography and computer tomography of the abdomen. The diagnosis was made by computer tomography and confirmed during laparotomy. The patient was asymptomatic in a follow-up period of 2 years. To the best of our knowledge, this particular form of intussusception due to multiple hamartomatous polyps has not been previously described in English language literature.
