Volume 1, Issue 1 (2010) pp. 66-69 Research Article Left Paraduodenal Hernia - A Case Report Madhumita Mukhopadhyay*, Anil K Saha, Samarendra N Tripathi and Debasis Mandal Department of Surgery, Calcutta National Medical College and Hospital, Kolkata, India Abstract Paraduodenal hernias are rare congenital anomalies which arise from an error of rotation of the midgut. It is important as it often presents as intestinal obstruction and is usually misdiagnosed before laparotomy. We present the case of a 30 year old man who required laparotomy because of intestinal obstruction from a left paraduodenal hernia.
