  Abstract  
  A revision of the kinetic and mechanistic results of the interaction of carbohydrates of biological importance with hypervalent chromium done by the Bioinorganic Chemistry Research Group at the General Chemistry Area Department of the Biochemistry and Pharmaceutical Science Faculty at the National University at Rosario, during the last ten years is reported.
