  Abstract
Employing the multidentate ligands 1,2,3,4-tetra-(4-pyridyl)-butane (TPB) and 1,2,4-benzene tricarboxylic acid (H3BTC) as mixed bridges, a novel Cd(II) metal-organic framework was obtained and characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction, [Cd4(TPB)2(BTC3-)2(HBTC2-)(H2O)2·(H2O)]n (1). The three-dimensional (3-D) framework of complex 1 possesses three topologically nonequivalent nodes synchronously and exhibits an unprecedented topology (445968)2(42536)(42537). And the complex displays good thermal stability and strong photoluminescence in the blue region band. Thus it may serve as a potential candidate of thermally stable blue-light-emitting material.
