  Abstract  
  Interferogram analysis technique is discussed with information theory and signal processing approaches. Uncertainty principle for fringe signal detection is set up. Its application on the effect of signal length, phase measurement, and strain or slope measurement is discussed. The relationship between the accuracy and spatial resolution for measurand is investigated.
