  Abstract
Multifunctional hybrid nanostructured materials represent an attractive research field because of the possibility to tailor and optimize the resulting materials with multiple functionalities or the enhanced properties in contrast with their more-limited single-component counterparts. This review will summarize the recent advances in synthesis and properties of hybrid nanomaterials and their potential applications in biomedical fields.
