Review on the analytical models describing melting at the nanoscale

  Abstract  
  It is well established that melting temperature is size-dependent. Melting point depression of nanostructures is generally expected when size reduces while superheating can be observed for embedded structures. We reviewed the melting models reported in the literature since the 19th century until now.
