  Abstract
Graphene, which possesses unique nanostructure and a variety of fascinating properties, is considered as promising nanoscale support to anchor metal nanoparticles to form new nanocomposite materials. In this paper, graphene-Au nanocomposite is synthesized by microwave assisted reduction of chloroaurate in alkaline solution with graphite oxide dispersion using a CEM microwave system. The method allows a facile and rapid reduction in aqueous media without the need for hazardous reducing agents or high temperatures.
