  Abstract
Terahertz (THz) spectroscopy and imaging are among the indispensible tools of characterization in the materials, physical, chemical and biological sciences. Among various techniques, THz time domain spectroscopy (TDS) is a promising tool to investigate low energy charge dynamics in strongly correlated systems. In this paper, we show that the epitaxial thin films synthesized by pulsed laser deposition possess a desirable structural form for the implementation of THz TDS technique. By studying the epitaxial thin films of Nd0.5Sr0.5MnO3 and Eu0.5Sr0.5MnO3 manganites, we show that the collective excitations of charge-density waves emerge in charge-ordered films whereas Drude-like conductivity appears in the metallic films.
